Summary: Help buy T-shirts for Hamilton and SOTA I students to unite the two schools housed within one building.
Goal: $1,500 • Amount raised: $885 from online fundraising, plus other fundraising allowed the school to achieve its goal • School: Hamilton and School of Technology & Arts I • Sponsor Name: Kristopher Miller
What: The PBIS Team at Hamilton/SOTA I is currently raising money to support a unity T-shirt project to help unite our two schools.
Why: Our building is the home to two different schools with vastly different populations, as well as different philosophies. We embrace both wholeheartedly, but realize that having schools on different calendars, schedules, and with different core concepts, our students and staff can feel disconnected from others in the building. One thing that ties our whole school together is our Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports (PBIS) program which helps students understand our expectations of respect, responsibility and safety. One part of PBIS is a monthly all-school event in which both schools come together for a fun activity. Past examples have included a Bubble Run, completing a giant coloring sheet, doing our own Mannequin Challenge video, and more.
In the past, our schools have had separate logos, both of which could use some updating. This is where our idea for new logo shirts comes in. In art, our students are currently working on ideas to inspire a new logo, which will incorporate both the Hamilton Hawk and the SOTA Timber Wolf in one logo, representing our entire school. We are hoping that all of the students will be able to have a shirt, with the new logo on the front, as well as our reminders to Be Respectful, Be Responsible and Be Safe. Each grade will have a different color (i.e. one grade red, one grade orange, etc.) regardless of their different schools. We are excited for this opportunity to unite both our students and staff members through this project, and plan to distribute them at an event where we will take an all school rainbow photo with all of the students wearing their new shirts.
When: We would like to secure all funding for this project by November 21st with the goal of distributing shirts before winter break.
Where Your Donation Goes: Our plan is to provide a shirt for every student, regardless of their ability to pay for these shirts. We are currently seeking donations for this project. Any additional funds will be used to provide shirts to welcome new students at our school in the future.
All donations to LPEF are tax-deductible and will be acknowledged via letter. LPEF adds a small surcharge to offset credit card processing fees and related expenses. For more details, go to our About Support-a-School page.
- If fundraising falls short of the goal, money will be used to fulfill as much of the project as feasible.
- If fundraising exceeds the goal, the project will be expanded or money will go to a similar purpose at the same school.
