River City Strings, comprised of La Crosse school students, performs at Jan. 10 Square Dance at Concordia Hall.

A Jan. 10 Benefit Square Dance raised $640 to support string music programs in the School District of La Crosse.

The Coulee Region Old Time Music Association hosted the event at the Concordia Ballroom, with music by River City Strings, a band of La Crosse school students, as well as Prairie Smoke and Grand Picnic.

Proceeds were given to the La Crosse Public Education Foundation and will now go to support string music programs in district schools.
