The La Crosse Public Education Foundation will be among more than 40 local nonprofit organizations gathered on Saturday, Dec. 5 for the 5th annual Care & Share Expo.
The event, hosted by the Robert and Eleanor Franke Charitable Foundation, is held in the museum room of the La Crosse Public Library, 800 Main St., from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Dec. 5.
The Franke Foundation gathers area nonprofits in one place to promote collaboration among the agencies, and to encourage charitable giving during the holiday season. Each organization will have a display table with representatives on hand to answer questions. Prospective volunteers can learn more about what they can do to help in the community.
Donations made to any nonprofit on hand that day will be matched by the Franke Foundation, up to a total of $500 per organization.
In addition, the first 30 children who attend will receive a book about Caring & Sharing along with a special bookmark just for them.
The Robert & Eleanor Franke Foundation was established in 2011 as a legacy to the Frankes, who left an estate of more than $20 million to support charitable causes, including the La Crosse Community Foundation, Mayo Clinic Health System-Franciscan Healthcare and the Diocese of La Crosse, as well as other nonprofit organizations throughout the La Crosse area.
