La Crosse Public Education Foundation is honored to be one of three recipients of funding from Al’s Musky Challenge. The effort is a project of the Rotary Club of La Crosse Downtown and raises funds to support youth from disadvantaged backgrounds in our community.
LPEF received a grant of $15,000 to support field trips in the School District of La Crosse. All students deserve the opportunity to go out and explore the world around them which is made possible during field trips. The experiential learning at field trips increases student interest, knowledge, and motivation.
With tight district budgets and increasing transportation costs, the challenges to offering field trips have grown in recent years. This grant will enable more field trips and will reduce the burden placed on families to chip in for field trip costs.
Thank you to all supporters of Al’s Musky Challenge for ensuring that students have access to learning experiences outside of their school building!
