All teachers and staff in the School District of La Crosse are being recognized and celebrated today as part of the La Crosse Public Education Foundation’s annual Thank A Teacher celebration!
Before school begins on Tuesday, volunteers organized by the La Crosse Public Education Foundation will make special deliveries to all district buildings of breakfast items for nearly 1,000 teachers, administrators, and support staff throughout the School District of La Crosse.

This special Thank A Teacher Day event is made possible by the Carol Taebel “Thank A Teacher” Fund of the La Crosse Community Foundation, which Carol established in 2018 to recognize the dedication of teachers and the critical role they play in shaping the future of our next generation.

“Educators and staff make everything that happens in schools possible.” said Nell Saunders-Scott, Executive Director of the La Crosse Public Education Foundation. “We’re so grateful for Carol’s generosity that demonstrates community appreciation for their hard work year after year on Thank A Teacher Day.”
LPEF’s Thank A Teacher Day is held during National Teacher Appreciation Week, May 5 – 9. LPEF invites the public to join us in thanking educators and staff for their service to schools, students, and our community!
