For the 10th year running, we coordinated a simultaneous Thank A Teacher celebrations in each School District of La Crosse building to show appreciation for teachers, administrators, and support staff through the District.

On Tuesday, volunteers made special deliveries to all district buildings of pastries and fresh fruit for approximately 1,000 district teachers, administrators, and support staff.

Our 10th annual Thank A Teacher Day event is made possible by the Carol Taebel “Thank A Teacher”
Fund of the La Crosse Community Foundation.

“Teachers and staff are the heart of our schools and work hard all year to keep students in all of
our schools engaged, safe, and learning.” said Nell Saunders‐Scott, Executive Director of the La
Crosse Public Education Foundation. “It’s a joy to deliver this gift of thanks to honor the
dedication of teachers and staff throughout the School District of La Crosse.”

Our Thank A Teacher Day is held during National Teacher Appreciation Week, May 6 – 10.  We
invite you to join us in thanking educators and staff for their service to schools, students, and our
community. For those who can’t join the festivities at a neighborhood school, consider sharing your
thanks directly with teachers or posting reflections about favorite teachers on social media using the
hashtag #thankateacher.
